Ie. What’s the one thing that you want to get done today, and then for tomorrow, and the day after?

What’s the one thing, that if you checked it off your to-do list, you’d be fulfilled regardless if you haven’t finished the others?

I heard about daily highlights through Ali Abdaal’s video called ‘15 lessons that improved my life’ - inspired by ‘Make Time’ by Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky.

First: Pick one task (daily highlight) that you’ll be focusing on that day. To figure out what task to pick, choose something:

  • urgent (that you’ve been procrastinating on)
  • something fulfilling (based on your own values)
  • something you’ve got a bit of resistance doing but you know if you did it, you’d be proud of yourself for.

If you’re stuck, unfortunately I don’t know what these tasks are for you, but TOP TIP:

List out all your to-do’s, then from your to do’s pick your non negotiables, then from those, pick the one you’d be most satisfied to complete.

e.g Yesterday I had a a few things under ‘MUST DO’s’

but I came up with something completely different for my daily highlight. Something that fulfilled my values for connection and playfulness/fun.

Even though I ended up doing half of the lesson, reading 1 paragraph of chapter 5 and doing my singing practice, I STILL FELT FULFILLED!

So especially if you need more clarity and meaningfulness in your day, give this a try and let me know what you think!
