No, it’s not to ‘give more’.

It’s simply to… Manage your expectations.

‘HUH?’

Yes, valid reaction, let’s dive into it:

Of course I love me some quality reddit, and came across this during my ‘I WANT TO BE MORE GENEROUS’ frenzy.

My eyeballs really locked onto this one. I knew that when I gave something, I subconsciously wanted something in return. Whether it’s shouting someone some food or giving a compliment, the running inner dialogue looked a little something like: ‘I hope I get something in return’

Generosity isn’t about giving more, it’s about spring cleaning your expectations. If you can give WITHOUT expecting anything in return, ironically you receive more as a by-product (though that shouldn’t b your prime motivation or else it defeats the point!)

So happy giving, hope this helps!
