Proud-est

Strong-est

Smart-est

Fast-test

Best…est?

I recently came across this question:

“What is your proudest achievement? Why?”

I was RACKING my brains, trying to come up with that one single most special moment.

Upon seeing my pure indecisiveness and frustration, my room mate said this:

“Just imagine they asked ‘What is a proud achievement you’ve had, and why?’. Get rid of the ‘-est’, everyone’s too caught up in the -ests and to be honest, your ‘other’ proud moments are just as good.”

It’s easy to get obsessed with the ‘best of the best’. But with all that searching, comparing and judging, we completely neglect the journey of ‘eh’ and ‘oop that was not good’. We overlook the other things that don’t stand out as much, but are just as special in getting us to where we are currently.

Forget the ‘-ests’, you’re doing good.
