OH BOY WHAT A FANTASTIC WORD!

Not only does it have the perfect ratio between consonants + vowels, but it’s something we all need more of in our lives.

It’s simply:

The quality of being coherent, simple and precise.

_____

WHY WE NEED MORE CLARITY:

Often, we do things without a clear goal or purpose in mind. “Yeah I guess I’ll read an article that actually has no relevance to the assignment I need to submit”. “Yeah I guess I’ll give my dog a shower even though he smells gud and I have other things to prioritise.”

heck

Without a plan, the days just fill with blah filler activities. Then I look back on the day like “What did I even do today?”.

Ok, so we need some clarity around the actions we make.

But JUST AS IMPORTANTLY, we need clarity about ourselves

I.e:

--> What are our actual strengths?

--> What are our limiting subconscious thoughts?

--> Why are we working in this job again?

--> What are our values? (ie what fulfils us most?)

--> What am we willing to say ‘no’ to?

Once we’re clear on who we are, and why we do things - it’s a whole lot easier to communicate that to others, and set boundaries.

For example:

I quit my job recently.

It was a hard decision but I kept asking “Why am I working in this job again?”. I realised it just wasn’t aligned to me and my personality. Of course it took months to finally pluck that duck feather (… analogies confuse me). But had I not taken the time to get more clarity, I would’ve continued to settle.

HOW TO PRACTICE MORE CLARITY

Ask yourselves these questions.

1. What am I doing this for?

2. Why am I doing this?

3. What is one thing I want to improve about myself?

4. What is one thing that I do pretty damn well?

5. What % of Phoebe Buffay are you?

 … No seriously

It just takes a little baby step each time to get more clarity.

Treat it like a game - what could you find out about yourself?

Here’s to self care!
